International Conference on Laser Applications in Life Sciences (LALS) 

LALS_history

  • LALS is a biannual conference series that draws around 150-300 participants from over 30 countries and is held in various locations. The inaugural conference was initiated by Prof. Sergey Akhmanov of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and firstly held in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1986.
  • LALS is one of the leading events in the area of laser applications in life sciences, at the edge of laser physics, photochemistry, photobiology, photobiomedicine, and biophotonics.
  • The conference has been held in several locations over the years, including Prague, Czechoslovakia (1986); Pecs, Hungary (1988); Moscow, Russia (1990); Jyvaskyla, Finland (1992); Minsk, Belarus (1994); Jena, Germany (1996); Bratislava, Slovakia (1998); Tokyo, Japan (2000); Vilnius, Lithuania (2002); Moscow, Russia (2007); Taipei, Taiwan (2008); Oulu, Finland (2010); Ulm, Germany (2014); Shenzhen, China (2016); Ramat-Gan, Israel (2018); Nancy, France (2022) and Mugla, Turkey (2023).
  • The LALS program includes plenary sessions, keynotes, invited papers, and selected contributed oral, poster, and post-deadline papers. It provides a forum for researchers, academics, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and discuss the latest advancements in the field of laser applications in life sciences. Because of their importance for scientific community some topics of the conferencewill may be organized in the form of Symposia.
